She Taught Me Serendipity
We are all awkward and pathetic when we are in love...
Director Akiko OHKU ( “Tremble All You Want” and “Hold Me Back”) depicts the dazzling days of youth.
STORY
College life is a far cry from the way Konishi had imagined, and his days are plagued with monotony. However, he does manage to enjoy some lighthearted interactions with Yamane, his only friend on campus, and Sacchan, his co-worker at the local bathhouse. Everything changes one day after class when he lays eyes on Sakurada, and is mesmerized by the elegant girl with the distinctive bun hairstyle. After summoning up the courage to talk to her, a series of delightful coincidences helps Konishi and Sakurada thoroughly hit it off. He’s astounded when Sakurada casually mentions that she wants to enjoy every single day of her life, and to always think “Today’s sky is my favorite.” These are the same words Konishi’s beloved grandmother used to say before she passed away six months earlier. Konishi is profoundly moved, and trembles with joy at having met Sakurada.
Just as Konishi begins to find a renewed affection for the world around him, a shocking event takes place, altering Konishi and Sakurada’s destinies forever.
